This is Part 2 of my big Turkey road trip. After driving all the way from Worcester to Antalya, I spent just over a week visiting Antlara Dental Clinic to finally sort out my smile.

Regular viewers will know I’ve been dealing with a broken tooth for the last 18 months. The NHS in the UK can be touch and go, and a private practice quoted me £10,500 for the work to be done - that’s about the price of 6 cars!

This longer, documentary-style video follows the whole process: from my initial trepidation, to deciding to have totally the wrong thing, and then eventually feeling completely comfortable and getting a proper long-term solution instead of just a quick fix.

Just like cars, it’s better to cut out all the rot and weld in new metal than just patch it with filler and fiberglass. There aren’t really any quick fixes, and I was grateful to Antlara not just for their expertise, but for their patience in dealing with me and my initial desire to just patch it up.

Also, I’m hoping to dispel the myth that everyone who visits Turkey comes back with a bright white ROLLS ROYCE grill stuck to the front of their face… You can do that, but you don’t have to! I wanted a natural result, and that's exactly what we aimed for.
