Creating a Boxwood Bonsai (Buxus) from Nursery Stock

Описание к видео Creating a Boxwood Bonsai (Buxus) from Nursery Stock

In this lecture Bjorn styles a Boxwood, or Buxus, from nursery stock material. He also discusses stage three development for broadleaf evergreen trees, as part of his online course on creating a bonsai from scratch (from seed, cuttings or air layers).

This Buxus had an established nebari (stage one) and thick enough trunks (stage two), so it was ready for moving into stage three development. Bonsai nurseries sometimes offer this kind of material, but a nice radial nebari as well as tapering trunks will make this kind of material very expensive - all the more reason to develop things yourself from scratch! After a mild styling like today, we can choose to repot the tree as well, but if you are not sure, always wait until the next early spring. This video is a free preview lecture from our Developing Bonsai from Seed course.
