The True Problem with Dead by Daylight

Is DBD dying? The current DBD Meta is probably the most boring and stale the game has ever seen. Perks needs to have less influence on the game and generators specifically.

Nerf nearly all slowdown perks minus perks like Corrupt Intervention, Grim Embrace, Dead Man's Switch, etc.
Nerf toolboxes or make them not progress gens.
Nerf perks on the survivor side like Prove Thyself and the Hyperfocus + Stake Out combo.

Then the game could be balanced around killer powers, maps, and new average gen speeds. I think the game would be much easier to balance and update if perks didn't have so much power and influence on the game and specifically generators.
