Swimming in the very cold (7°C / 44°F) source of the River Kupa in Risnjak National Park in Croatia, while listening to some encouraging words from friendly American tourists. On the way there, I encountered a collapsed bridge over the river and had to go across by foot, fighting the current and stepping on slippery rocks.
