Mortal Kombat 1 Baraka/Jax Combo Guide

Hello and welcome to my Baraka/Jax combo guide! I’ve been playing this team since the release of MK1. I felt like there needed to be a guide so others could pick up the team and try it out themselves. Tips and tricks for some combos:

-If you want the corner combos to be more consistent you can do (4) instead of (F4)

-I usually double crouch to make timing the (2,1),(2,1) after B3,1/DF2 easier. Midscreen I forward dash and wait a split second before pressing (2,1),(2,1)

-Midscreen you sometimes have to micro dash backwards into (F4)/(4) to make sure they don’t fly over your head after the Gotcha Grab

-If you’re wondering why you aren’t getting as much damage as me it’s probably because you let the last hit of (DF2) connect. The combos scales harder if you let the last hit connect so call Jax a little earlier so he can grab them out of (DF2) to avoid the last hit!

-Back Gotcha Grab and Forward Gotcha Grab don’t make that much of a difference in the corner for the most part but sometimes Forward Gotcha Grab will just randomly whiff so try to use Back Gotcha Grab more often except for special situations like (2,1),(2,1),(EN BF1/BF1)

-If you want to extend your combo make sure to let Jax finish his grab animation or else you’ll knock him over and he will take forever to run away so you’ll have to cut your combo short (this is especially a problem in the corner). Sometimes it doesn’t matter for certain midscreen combos because the screen moves over enough that Jax leaves immediately.

-Make sure to keep the opponent above your head/upper chest area because Jax will whiff if they are at your waist or lower (this is mostly a midscreen issue).

-For the back throw combos I usually look at Baraka’s elbow/lean back to time the Jax call after he flips the opponent to the other side. You HAVE to call Jax before Baraka stabs the opponent or else Jax will just whiff.

-For (B3,1)/(EN DF2) instead of doing (2,1),(2,1) you can alternatively do (2,1),(1,2) to make it easier to connect the (EN BF1/BF1) into Gotcha Grab in the corner.

-Make sure to keep an eye on my inputs because I micro dash more than you think in a lot of these combos.

-If you’re wondering I DON’T MASH DURING FATAL! It would be stupid since the opponent will always mash during your fatal and sometimes you don’t get the perfect mash during every fatal so the numbers would vary too much. STOP POSTING COMBOS WERE YOU MASH AND THE OPPONENT DOESN’T IT’S DUMB AND YOU WILL NEVER GET THAT MAX DAMAGE IN A REAL MATCH! End Rant!
