“a Metallurgist’s Diary” is a documentary film on Professor Kamanio Chattopadhyay, Department of Materials Engineering, Indian institute of Science, Bangalore. It was prepared by his students from Non-Equilibrium Processing and Nanomaterials Laboratory. The documentary captures his journey from REC Durgapur to IISc Bangalore and introduces all the people who have shaped him along this journey. The documentary was prepared on the occasion of his retirement upon completing 65 years and was screened during the banquet of Metastable Microstructures and Electron Microscopy 2015, a seminar organized to felicitate him.

Professor Kamanio Chattopadhyay is a premier metallurgist of the country. Having contributed significantly in the field of Quasicrystals, his work is internationally recognized. His work in embedded alloy system, metallic nano particles, micro-gravity, and alloys for high temperature application research is highly regarded.
