Playa Caracol is conveniently located in the center of the Part Zone in Cancun Hotel Zone. It offers various services including restaurants and ablution facilities, and access to various smaller beaches just a short walk away as shown in this video. The well stocked Chedraui supermarket is located directly opposite the beach access point, which also has parking available if you have a car.

This is also a ferry terminal for Ultramar Ferries to/from Isla Mujeres. The signs advertise Cozumel, although the Cozumel schedule is rather seasonal, and availability subject to weather conditions. For more information see the Ultramar ferry schedule here:

Just a note of advice before using the bars and restaurants surrounding Playa Caracol, first read the most recent reviews on Google. Please note that in Mexico tipping is not compulsory, and it depends on the level of service received. If you are satisfied with the service, standard rate is 10% up to 15% if the service was exceptional. Do not be fooled by opportunistic staff who requires 20% "tax" to be added to the bill. State taxes are already included in all prices as advertised.

Regarding beaches, all beaches are Federal zones which means that it is freely accessible to the public. Hotel employees may not restrict you from using any beaches. They may only restrict you from utilizing hotel owned property such as sun loungers, tables, chairs, etc.
