The jersey sponsor is a controversial topic. Some people hate them, particularly Americans, where the concept is still foreign. Others like them. I mean, how can anyone dislike seeing Sega on Arsenal kits back in the day…Spurs fans aside, mind you.

Personally, I’m fine with them. As long as your sponsor makes sense. As someone from Sacramento who passed the Blue Diamond Headquarters regularly, it was cool seeing them on the Kings’ jerseys. Dialpad, you can miss me with all that.

However, there is a big difference between a bad sponsor and a truly weird one. Today, we are focusing on those company/kit combinations that didn’t make much sense.

A few things to get out of the way. First, we are not including teams owned by companies that put that logo on their jerseys. Second, I’m keeping this at a relatively high level. At some point, though, I need to draw a line here because things get wild the lower down the sports uniform pyramid you go.
