This lecture is the second one in the Intro to Game Theory series of public lectures given to the ORMC Parents' Club in the Summer 2025. ORMC, short for UCLA Olga Radko Endowed Math Circle, is a free Sunday math school for gifted children run by UCLA Department of Mathematics. We occasionally entertain parents with public lectures while their kids are taking classes.

Prisoner's Dilemma is a popular game that many Game Theory courses begin with. The main reason for the popularity seems to be the fact that the rational behavior prescribed by the theory seems intuitively quite irrational. In this lecture, we make a minor addition to the model which makes everything make sense.

The modification of the model is not worth writing a paper, but likely is worth making a popular science video about it.
