Police raid: Officers confronted with knives as they raid suspected fraudsters in national crackdown

Police have launched a national crackdown on fraud and The Telegraph witnessed first hand how suspected scammers confronted police during intense dawn raids.

Officers were attempting to arrest suspects alleged to have been involved in courier fraud, in which elderly vulnerable people are duped into handing over large sums of cash to couriers.

Last year alone, victims lost a total of £7 million, with some handing over hundreds of thousands of pounds.
