In this calculus math example, we show how to solve the limit of a rational function as our variable is approaching infinity oo. The first step is to look for the highest degree (power) of an individual term in the denominator. We then multiply both the numerator and denominator by 1 over x to the power. This is distributed to each term in both the numerator and the denominator. Individual fractions are then reduced to lowest terms. We can then evaluate the limit at each term, one at a time. When we have a constant over a variable, the limit will approach zero. Our solution is then simplified.
