What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that physically, targets the deeper connective tissues( bones, ligaments, tendons,and fascia) of the body. Yin yoga helps us to listen to our bodies, to learn to slow down, relax and go inwards.

The essence of Yin is yielding, surrendering, softening, calming, cooling.
The practice is usually done when the muscles are still cool.

Some of the Benefits of Yin Yoga:
1. It improves the range of motion in your joints as well as strengthening them, resulting in more flexibility, and stability. Increases production of hyaluronic acid, keeping the joints lubricated.
2. Energetically, yin helps to remove deep blockages in the meridians ( nadis), so chi or Prana can flow easily, directing healing energy to the organs.
3. Builds our mental muscles as we pay attention to breath, emotions, and sensations. Strengthens our capacity to be mindful, and keep coming back to our breath.
4. Reduces Stress
5. Calming, centering and balancing to mind and body, bringing about a sense of well being, peace and joy.
6. Better ability to sit for meditation, as it improves our ability to be still, non reactive and patient.

3 Principles of Yin Yoga
1. Come into a pose to an appropriate edge
2. Resolve to remain still
3. Hold the pose for time
