Moaning Caverns- an adventure park right off Hwy 4 near Angels Camp, Ca

Our family has been adventuring a ton. Here’s a video of our latest trip to Moaning Caverns in Vallecitos, Ca!!

It was SO COOL. The entrance to the caverns is just a big hole in the ground, tours used to let you repel down into the main cavern.

In the 1920s, the first arch-welding job of its time created this spiral staircase down into the cavern out of a decommissioned BATTLE SHIP (yes I said battle ship) for the average citizen to be able to enjoy the magic that Mother Nature created in this cavern.

Over 200 stairs down to the bottom of the main cavern. My fear of heights kicked in immediately and my legs were shaking down the entire spiral staircase. My son was RIGHT in front of me so I couldn’t chicken out.

Our tour guide did an awesome job with this group and our kiddos.
