Dance in many Indigenous communities is a prayer, an offering, a balancing of our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional selves which in turn heals and strengthens our communities.

The Native American Health Center in partnership with the National Park Service, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and the Presidio Trust welcomed indigenous communities and the greater public to a day of healing dances at the Intertribal Dance Gathering: Dancing is Our Medicine.

Thanks to all those who made the day possible including California Consortium for Urban Indian Health (CCUIH), the Cultural Conservancy (CC) our California tribe dancers (Ohlone, Hupa, Kumeyaay), Round Dance songs with Mike Bellanger (Kickapoo, Sac & Fox), artist Calixto Robles (Zapotec), Kalley Roanhorse (Diné) and MC Randy Shirley.
