Metal production is a subset of archaeometallurgy, an emerging academic field that focuses on the systematic application of archaeological interpretation based on context and current developments in material science, using novel approaches to better restructure technology, mining, workshops, and the entire chain of production. Case studies have been drawn from Caucasus-adjacent locations, where all of the above mentioned phenomena will be well defined.
