The Lotte World Tower, in Seoul, is the fifth-tallest skyscraper in the world that officially opened on April, 2017. Built by Lotte Engineering & Construction Company with Danfoss as one of its partners, it stands 123 stories above the ground, has 6 stories below ground level, and has become a significant landmark in the South Korean capital with a total of 10 million visitors in just 100 days.

In particular, Lotte World Tower received the "LEED Gold Award" in June as the world's first certified eco-friendly building recognized for its stability and eco-friendliness. LEED is an eco-friendly building evaluation and certification system developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), which assesses the environmental impact of all building facilities, including building materials production, construction, maintenance, and disposal.

Through application of Danfoss solutions, Lotte World Tower has saved 5,040MW of power energy every year. In addition, Danfoss drives are half the size and weight of our competitors’ drives, and therefore meet our partners’ need to minimize installation space. Lotte Tower was able to maximize space efficiency by using Danfoss drive. A high-end air-conditioning system with a small footprint and effective control of the internal environment of a huge commercial space was applied.
