Ingredients

For Dough
--------------------
2 cups flour (wheat, maida, or mix)
2 tbsp hot ghee (melted)
1 pinch salt
¾ cup warm water (adjust as needed)
Oil – for deep frying
For Stuffing
--------------------
1 cup grated coconut (fresh or desiccated)
½ cup jaggery
¼ cup chopped dry fruits & nuts (cashew, almonds, raisins)
½ tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp water or fresh cream (optional, only if using dry coconut)
Method
----------------
Make Dough – Mix flour, salt, and hot ghee. Rub with palms until crumbly. Add warm water gradually, knead into a stiff dough (not sticky). Rest 10 mins.
Prepare Stuffing – In a pan, mix coconut, jaggery & cardamom. Cook until jaggery melts and blends. Add dry fruits. If needed, add 1–2 tbsp water. Cool completely.
Shape Modaks – Divide dough into small balls. Roll out into small circles, add filling in center, gather edges, pinch & shape like modak.
Fry – Heat oil on medium. Fry until golden, crisp, and aromatic.
Offer to Bappa – Your crispy sweet Fried Modaks are ready as prasad. 🌸
