Chapter 2 THE FRIENDLY MONGOOSE of a supplementary reader in English for class 6th (A Pact With The Sun) is A story about a pet mongoose who kills a snake in order to protect a child. By only seeing blood stains on the mongoose and without realizing what would have happened, the mother of the child kills the pet only to see the child alive and playing in the cradle and a snake lying dead on the floor.

The story teaches us that we should not be judgemental and act hastily. We must think properly before reaching to a conclusion and understand everything with a calm mind.
