"The Day Keith Whitley Died" by Timothy Baker (Original Song)

Описание к видео "The Day Keith Whitley Died" by Timothy Baker (Original Song)

Around a year ago I was thinking about the influence that Keith Whitley has had not only on young country singers like myself, but on just about anyone who has sang country music since his passing. With that in mind I wrote this song to honor Keith and the legacy that he left behind, and with today marking 30 years since he passed away I thought it was only appropriate that I share it with the world. If you're a fan of Keith's music, please share this with your friends and family!

My buddy Korey Rose was kind enough to include this song on his upcoming solo album, and pre-sale for digital and physical formats begins tomorrow, May 10! This song and the rest of the album will be available in June, so be on the lookout for it!

Lyrics:
The ground shook in Miami, Music Row went dark
All the radios grew quiet to respect a fallen star
All of Sandy Hook was mourning and country music cried
That Kentucky Bluebird flew away the day Keith Whitley died

That friend of thunder left us wondering why he had to go before his time
But I bet Homecoming '63 was nothing like homecoming '89
He had so much left to say when he closed his eyes
That Kentucky Bluebird flew away the day Keith Whitley died

No there'll never be another that could ever take his place
And those old memories alone ain't enough to fill the empty space
The world will never be the same but his songs are still alive
That Kentucky Bluebird flew away the day Keith Whitley died

CH

We've been called to carry on his legacy, and The Good Lord knows we'll try
But He took the best there ever was the day Keith Whitley died
