Lock and Dam Park and Campground in Rome, GA is directly on the Coosa River and has a small campground with 31 sites. All the sites have power and water and some of the sites have full hook-ups (including sewer). They also have a very nice primitive camping area that is open to organized groups.

We have camped in the park twice over the last 2 years. This video was all filmed during our visit in May 2023. There aren't a lot of reviews of the Lock and Dam Park Campground. I hope you find this helpful.

One thing we noticed during this recent visit was that there seemed to be active improvements happening like new picnic tables in most sites, fresh gravel in some sites, and new sleeping structures in the primitive area.

Some of the sites are tight for larger camping rigs but the park’s website does have a link to a one-page document that briefly describes each site.

See that here:

The park is very popular as a day use area for fishing and boating. There is a huge parking lot that can accommodate trucks and boat trailers. However, no boat is needed to have a successful fishing trip. There are plenty of areas that can be accessed from the parking area.

There is a nice play structure for children to play on and a big pavilion adjacent to the parking lot that can be rented.

The park is 73 acres so there are also several trails to walk on if you want to stretch your legs.

This park is operated by the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation.
