Welcome to my walking tour of Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands. I will explore some of the most interesting places in this beautiful city. Let’s start our journey!
Streets of Amsterdam
I begin my tour by walking through the charming streets of Amsterdam. The city is known for its narrow streets lined with historic buildings. These streets are full of life with people biking, walking, and enjoying the many cafes and shops.
Magna Plaza
My first stop is Magna Plaza, a beautiful shopping centre located near Dam Square. This building used to be the main post office of Amsterdam. Now, it’s a place where you can shop for various things or just admire the stunning architecture.
Canal Views
Amsterdam is famous for its canals. As I walk, I get to see some lovely canal views. The canals are lined with picturesque houses and boats. These views are perfect for taking photos and enjoying the serene atmosphere.
Central Station
Next, I visit Amsterdam Central Station. This is the main train station of the city, and it’s a busy hub for travellers. The building itself is impressive with its grand architecture. From here, you can catch trains to various parts of the Netherlands and Europe.
Basilica of Saint Nicholas
Nearby, I find the Basilica of Saint Nicholas. This is a beautiful church with a rich history. The church is named after Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors. The inside of the church is just as stunning as the outside, with intricate decorations and artwork.
Street Views
As I continue my walk, I take in more street views. Amsterdam’s streets are lively and colourful. You can see street performers, markets, and many bicycles parked along the way. It’s a great way to experience the daily life of the city.
Dam Square
My next stop is Dam Square, the heart of Amsterdam. This is a bustling square surrounded by important buildings like the Royal Palace and the National Monument. The square is always busy with tourists, street performers, and locals.
Beurs van Berlage
From Dam Square, I move to the Beurs van Berlage. This historic building was once the stock exchange of Amsterdam. Today, it’s used for various events and exhibitions. The architecture of the building is unique and worth admiring.
Walking Through the Canals of Amsterdam
One of the best ways to enjoy Amsterdam is by walking along its canals. The canals are beautiful, with old houses, charming bridges, and boats passing by. It’s a peaceful and scenic walk that lets you see the city from a different perspective.
Anne Frank House
I also pass by the Anne Frank House. This museum is dedicated to Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who wrote a diary during World War II. Although I only see the outer view, it’s a place that reminds us of the important history of Amsterdam.
Noordermarkt
Next, I visit Noordermarkt, a popular market in the Jordaan district. This market is known for its organic food, antiques, and various stalls selling interesting items. It’s a great place to explore and find unique souvenirs.
Amsterdam Sloterdijk
My final stop is Amsterdam Sloterdijk, a major transportation hub. This area has modern buildings and is well-connected with trains, buses, and trams. It’s an important part of the city for travellers and commuters.
Thank you for joining my walking tour of Amsterdam. I hope you enjoyed exploring the city’s streets, canals, and historic sites. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more travel videos!
