Coming up to Vic and Sid’s 11th week. They must have read the manual as their development is right on the spot. More and more strength in their wings and now hovering for longer periods of time. Even Sid has started to branch out. Vic moves further out on the same branch every day. I believe the lack of food being delivered by the adults is quite intentional. This helps encourage the eaglets to fledge the nest. Ellie usually checks in once a day generally with a smaller portion of food. Both adults are still around perched on various spots within eye sight of the nest.
Vic and Sid are well beyond sibling rivalry. I am always entertained by their behaviour. I have even witnessed moments of mutual affection, playfulness and I would also say patience. Watch the video where Sid (on the left) and Vid stand close together.
