At all times, the Volkswagen Beetle has been compared to cockroaches - both of them are so difficult to kill that they will probably survive even a nuclear apocalypse. Of the dozens of prototypes and prototypes built before World War II, Volkswagen is closest to the original design of Ferdinand Porsche's KdF-Wagen. They were sent to journalists for demonstration in the press in the second half of 1938 - early 1939.
