Renovat Nzeyimana is a Burundian national who has lived in different refugee camps within central, eastern and southern Africa since his birth in 1972. He is the founder of BIKE FOR HOPE NORWAY, an association which he conceived in 2013.
Our goal is to use sport(bike) and raise the consciousness of, and motivate refugees to fully utilize their potentials, through knowing their roots, believing in themselves and working hard. In addition, we aim to remind the Norwegian community that its informed support is crucial for refugees` better integration, and self-sufficiency, so that they can make a positive contribution to the country and their countries of origine. Renovat`s motivation comes from his 48 years experience in exile, where he has been subjected to different kinds of challenges, where sport and education have been the most important tools to his succes. Renovat Nzeyimana ended up in Norway in November 2005. He earned a degree in general nursing from the University College of Hedmark in 2012, and he is a profesional international driver, after a six - month intensive course in transport and logistics, at Sogndal High School in 2011.
