Sharing some simple ideas for Christmas decorations you can make yourself using cardboard, threads or yarn, and any extra beads you have on hand. If you have a glue gun, that helps, but if not, PVC glue should be enough. These can be fun projects to do with kids at home or as a workshop activity (just make sure adults handle the glue gun, as both the tip and glue can get very hot; otherwise, opt for PVC glue).

I’ll show you four shapes: a tree, ball, stocking, and snowman—all easy to recreate. We usually start by drawing and cutting out the shape. Then, we either cover the surface with PVC glue and add pre-cut threads or, especially for round shapes, glue the thread in a spiral pattern. Once the colourful base is ready, we can decorate with beads or sequins using the glue gun. Finally, attach a hanging loop to the back, and it’s done! You can put them together as a garland or use them separately to decorate however you like. Happy decorating, everyone!
