MISSION HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Aug. 13 (KNN) — A wrecked car and a fatally injured driver landed in the backyard of a Mission Hills home after the vehicle flew off the 118 Freeway late Monday night.
The Los Angeles Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a vehicle that left the freeway shortly after 11 p.m. and crashed into a residential backyard in the 10700 block of North Burnet Avenue (intersection of the 118 and 5 freeways). 
When first responders arrived, they found a man who had been ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Providence Holy Cross Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash, according to the CHP in a news release of the incident.
