Easy 2 Piece Silicone Mold Making - Casting With EpoxAmite Laminating Epoxy Resin

We're back with another easy to do DIY Mold making and casting props video. This is a how to make an easy 2 piece silicone mold making and casting with EpoxAmite laminating epoxy resin using silicone rubber products from Smooth-On. In this mold making molding & casting 101 video we use 7 year old Mold Star 15 and see if it still cures. With the finished two piece silicone block mold we cast our insulators using some old Smooth On EpoxAmite laminating resin we have been storing in the garage. We mold an old ceramic insulator to an electrical power pole for a Cosplay photo set backdrop. We really like using Mold Star silicone because it's easy to use and cures soft but is still a strong rubber that is tear resistant. It has a very low long term shrinkage and surprisingly last a very long time even though the warranty and shelf life is not supposed to last as long as it did for us.
