At Atlanta 1996, Krisztina Egerszegi won her third consecutive gold medal in the 200m backstroke, making her only the second swimmer, after Dawn Fraser in the 100 free, to win the same event at three straight Olympics. She is the only female Olympic swimmer to have won five individual gold medals.
