I had the chance to watch the Metamorphoses play at the Folger Shakespeare Library last weekend and it was AMAZING.

Directed by Psalmayene 24 and written by Mary Zimmerman, this play is a telling of the classic stories of the loves, losses, and transformations of gods and mortals that are reimagined in this 21st century play.

The mythic and the modern clash together with told stories of Aphrodite, Midas, Cupid, and others. It is a stark reminder of how life can be easily taken for granted with all the joys, follies, and heartbreaks that come along with it.

Metamorphoses was based on the Myths of Ovid from classic Greek mythology. It was nominated for three Tony Awards in 2002, including "Best Play".
