But why did a social media post from the Prime Minister of India with the intention of promoting Indian tourism, triggered the people of Maldives? Neither the Prime Minister of India nor any other Indian officials made any kind of reference to Maldives.

All they did was to promote the tourism in Lakshadweep, which is an integral part of India. So where is this hatred, actually coming from?
