The #1 reason for doubt is unanswered prayer.

We often create formulas about how we think God should show up, causing us to walk away when we don’t get the result we expected or asked for. God is okay with us testing Him in these areas because He can handle it. What causes discord is when it isn’t answered the way we want it to be.

Micah and Shireen emphasize that God is completely predictable in who He is, not what He will do. Although we can’t predict how He will respond or show up, God has proven that His character is never changing. When we pray those bold prayers, no matter what happens, we can anchor in the truth of who God is. We have to know His nature so that if something doesn’t turn out how we want it to, we have an anchor in what we know He is.
