D-Zone - Not just gifted offensively, Benson knows where he needs to be defensively, and uses his smarts and stick to his advantage. Often trusted on the PK in junior, he usually made the best play, regardless of where he was on the ice.
Feb.21, 2022 - D-1 - Even as a youngster, Benson was unafraid to go to the corner in his own end and dig out the puck. It took a couple of tries, but he came away with it and cleared the zone.

Feb.15, 2023 - D0 - After losing the d-zone draw, Benson goes right after the puck carrier. His size disadvantage is not a deterrent, as he dumps him to the ice and his team takes possession.

Jan.21, 2023 - D0 - Benson picks his moment to join the scrum and take the puck in his own end. Though he is immediately in trouble again, he sticks with it and makes sure the pucks get out of his end.

Oct.29, 2023 - D+1 - Even against bigger and stronger NHL competition Benson manages to use his positioning and vision to engage in the defensive end and come away cleanly with the puck.
