The F-35 is a fighter jet that cost more than one trillion dollars to develop: this makes it the most expensive weapon in history... although its price per unit is not particularly high. Despite all this, it seems that this aircraft will end up becoming the benchmark fighter for the US Army and all its allies.

What is most surprising is that the F-35 was first developed to save costs for the US military and the other countries that joined the program to develop it. However, a series of catastrophic misfortunes led to cost overruns, production delays and all sorts of accidents that have resulted in a veritable blowout.
