Banker's Discount
A banker's discount is the difference between the amount a customer pays on a bill and the amount they receive after the bank deducts its payment. It's calculated as simple interest on the bill's face value for the time between the discount date and the due date.
Bankers use banker's discounts to provide money to customers before the due date on a bill. For example, if a merchant sells goods to a customer on credit, the merchant can take the bill to a banker and receive money before the due date. The banker will deduct the discount and provide the remaining money on a discounted bill.
