Epic 25km SUP Adventure: Algarve Coast Expedition | Praia dos Caneiros to Praia do Barranco

Join us on an unforgettable 25km stand up paddle adventure along the stunning Algarve coast! 🌊🏄‍♂️ Our journey begins at the picturesque Praia dos Caneiros, where we set off to conquer the 12.5km stretch to Praia do Barranco. Mother Nature had other plans, as we battled strong winds and choppy seas on our first day, making for an exhilarating and challenging experience. 🌬️🌊

After a few hours of paddling, we found solace at “a friend's” house, where we spent the night recharging our batteries and sharing stories of our epic day on the water. 🏠🌅 The next day, we embarked on the return journey, completing the 25km round trip and solidifying our stand up paddle adventure as one for the books! 🏄‍♀️🌟

Being prepared for your SUP adventure is smart for safety as well as for your comfort. Consider paddleboarding accessories like a dry bag to pack some small necessities items such as some high energy, non-perishable snacks, and water for hydration. Wear a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) and a leash. Bring a cell phone in a waterproof dry bag to protect it from damage and to have it ready and available should you need to call for help. Texting a friend or family member your location as well as expected return time is also a good idea before your head out. Knowing which way the wind is blowing and whether or not it is expected to change direction later in the day is actually rather important. It is not allowed to sleep on beaches in Portugal. Always follow local rules and guidelines. If you do please look after the environment. Don’t make fires and pick up your trash.
