My rescued husky, Levi, has defied all odds, and I’ve learned more about life and what it means to be a good human in this world in the 2 years that I’ve had him than I have in my own 32 years of life.

So, let me share with you a few of the things he’s taught me about living a happy, purpose-filled life, and maybe you can adopt some of these principles into your own life to bring more happiness into it.

1. Forgiveness is the key to a happy life.
2. Your past does not define who you are
3. Always assume the best in people.
4. Your good energy is a superpower. It’s infectious. Use it to bring people up.
5. Never look down on someone unless you’re helping them up.
6. Not everybody is going to like you...and that's okay!
7. Cherish your time with your friends and family while they're still here.
8. Kindness is the most important tool to spread love amongst humanity. It’s spreading sunshine into other people lives, regardless of the weather. And it doesn’t need to be extravagant acts of service…it can be a simple hello and smile when you pass by on the street. Levi never misses a hello, ever.
9.Everybody is worthy of love. Period.
10. Never give up hope.
