You will love my super easy & delicious Pan Seared Steelhead Trout recipe!
It is often mistaken for salmon, as they both have bright orange-pink flesh that cooks to opaque. You can substitute steelhead trout for salmon in most recipes. See Ingredients & Recipe below:

Ingredients For Seasoning Steelhead Trout:
1.5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika for color
1/4 tsp salt or to taste
1/4 tsp crushed black pepper

Ingredients For Cooking Steelhead Trout
1 thick steelhead trout fillet - about 1 LB
2 tbsp good quality olive oil
1.5 tbsp butter
1 tbsp capers - liquid drained & rinsed in water

Cooking Instructions:
Rinse & pat dry Steelhead Trout fillet with paper towel, set aside
In a small bowl add all ingredients listed above for Seasoning Trout
Mix well then apply/rub seasoning all over the trout
Next heat a frying pan/skillet until hot then add olive oil
Reduce heat to medium high once oil is hot
Place seasoned steelhead trout skin side down in pan & sear for 3 minutes
Now flip trout and sear it for 3 more minutes on the flesh side
While fish is cooking add butter to pan & smother it with the butter sauce with a spoon. Next add capers and let simmer for 30 seconds on low
Wala! Your easy & delicious Pan Seared Steelhead Trout is ready!
Transfer it to a serving dish along with the capers, drizzle it with butter sauce
