About This Video:- Pandharpur Wari is an esteemed pilgrimage in Maharashtra, dedicated to the worship of Vithoba, a deity associated with Lord Krishna. This yatra features the ceremonial transport of the paduka (holy footwear) of revered saints like Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram in a palkhi (palanquin) from their respective shrines to Pandharpur.

Thousands of devotees, known as Warkaris, embark on this journey on foot, demonstrating their deep spiritual devotion. With a history spanning 700 to 800 years, this tradition is a cornerstone of Marathi culture and one of India's oldest continuous pilgrimages.

A Dindi is a small group of Waarakaris, and the combined procession of all Dindis is known as the Waari. For over seven centuries, devotees from across Maharashtra have embarked on this sacred pilgrimage. Many participants observe fasts and some walk barefoot, symbolizing the spiritual belief that the path to the divine is filled with obstacles and challenges. Devotees of all ages join the Dindi, setting aside their daily worries to celebrate this journey. Ultimately, this pilgrimage is not just a physical journey but a spiritual one, aiming to reach God, attain happiness, and achieve freedom.
