Chattel slavery may be abolished, but wage slavery is still practiced, virtually everywhere. As Professor Noam Chomsky points out, "Certain people are masters who give orders. And others are servants, or slaves, who follow the orders. That's called having a job. Having a job means spending most of your waking hours in a condition of subordination to a master."
