SSC MTS Exam is a national level exam held for recruitment of personnel in General Group-C Central Service non-ministerial and non-gazetted posts in various departments, ministries, and offices of the Government of India.


SSC MTS recruitment is organized by the Staff Selection Commission for various posts such as:

Jamadar

SSC MTS Salary After 7th Pay Commission
SSC MTS is a Group C non-gazetted, general Central Government service. It is a non-ministerial post with pay band 1(5200 – 20200) + the Grade Pay of 1800 rupees.

After the application of the 7th pay commission, not only the SSC MTS salary but the salaries of all the government employees increased by almost 20%. The take-home SSC MTS salary is approximately between 18,000 – 22,000/. However, the salary of SSC MTS varies depending on various factors such as location, allowances, etc.

Increment in terms of positions and responsibilities
Through departmental examination, an SSC MTS can be promoted to LDC, even if the employee does not appear for the exam. After the completion of 5-6 years of service he will by default be promoted as LDC depending upon the vacancies.

Any MTS employee who is LDC after clearing the exams can again be promoted to UDC by giving another department examination. Or else, he might be promoted by default on completion of stipulated term of service.

Not just this, an MTS employee with exceptional years of service can retire holding a Gazetted rank or under the Secretary Level in extraordinary cases.
