OBS vs vMix - What streaming software is Best - Killer Feature Comparison

Описание к видео OBS vs vMix - What streaming software is Best - Killer Feature Comparison

This video will provide an OBS vs vMix feature comparison so you can make an intelligent choice on what software is best for your needs. The fundamental difference between the two pieces of software would have to be the origins of the software. vMix was born from a more corporate production environment.

The software shines when used for sporting events and live corporate interviews. The software is also perfect for creators who want to stream on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. When you look at the interface, it feels like it would fit perfectly into a TV studio in New York City. The software looks and feels like professional production hardware. The interface is cool, but the learning curve needed to understand how it works will be a bit steep at first. Another big difference is that vMix is not free. It'll cost you $60 to get a minimal amount of functionality, and if you want all the bells and whistles, you'll have to pay a whopping $700. One payment feature that Scott thinks is fair is if you purchased the $60 payment tier, and you decided to go with the next level, which is $300, vMix will only charge you $240.

OBS studio comes from the opposite end of the spectrum. The code is open-source, which means it's maintained by programmers who donate their time to improve the software. OBS Studio has a massive army of programmers, and you'll begin to see this first hand when you realize the pile of plugins, tools, scripts, and themes that are available for the software. Unlike vMix, where all the functionality has been preinstalled. OBS requires that you tinker to get it to do what you want. OBS is like a box of loose wires. You have to research how to connect the wires to achieve your needs, and there's not much OBS can't do.

At this point, you're probably wondering what program is better. The simple answer is it depends on you.

Do you have a budget? (vMix)
Are you a YouTube streamer (OBS)
Are comfortable with computers (OBS)
Do you want it just to work (vMix)
Do you want an interface that is easier to understand (OBS)

I think you get the point. You need to determine which program is best for you.
