With a ‘56 MGA in the shop for a few minor issues, we are taking the opportunity to take a closer look at it. We’re going to show some of the common mistakes made during restorations that most owners are usually unaware of, and some of the challenges these cars pose during a major rebuild.

While they are a very stylish and beautiful car, those lines combined with the original production processes do make them a bit more difficult to do correctly than some other classics out there. The quality of replacement and repair panels for these often have not been as high as they should be, and end up needing some massaging to get all the details right.

We look at some of the more common issues and missed details that can make a big difference to the overall quality of a finished car.
