In sharp contrast to Op. 6 No. 1, this quartet is unserious, fun, chaotic, and virtuosic.

The first movement opens with a punchy theme somewhat similar to Beethoven's Op. 131, which quickly progresses into a bouncy and playful main theme. The playfulness is contrasted by a dark and dramatic and often heroic progression that follows the original theme.

The second movement is coy and mysterious, never revealing much - it is reminiscent of the slow movements of Vivaldi's Op. 3, Lestro Armonico.

Finally, the third movement begins with a fugal passage but quickly progresses into chaos before finally ending in E half-flat Major.

I don't want to think of this piece as a B-side, although Op. 6 No. 1 definitely is the star of my new releases - I see it as a fun escape for 20 minutes. A chaotic quartet where nothing really matters except for the triumph against evil.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy.
