Day 177 The Salamanca Reel - 365 Days of Irish Tenor Banjo Tunes

Today I am playing a reel which is a fairly standard Irish session tune. As such I tried to play it when I first started out an found it very challenging. With the practice I’ve been doing I think I am ready for the challenge of The Salamanca Reel

I also talk a bit about playing notes on the same fret across different strings as well as economy of motion and trying to leave your fingers in place as much as you can.

These daily postings are my way of trying to get better at Irish Tenor Banjo. I have challenged myself to play a new tune each day out of the Banjo Buddy’s Big Book of 365 Irish Tunes.
