Eric Christian is a Brooklyn based pianist and composer. While still maintaining respect to the classical traditions, Christian's work focuses strongly on melody and story telling. Not only resonating with the listener, but with intent of evoking the strongest of emotions.
Born Eric Christian von Fricken in Halfmoon, New York in 1991 , Eric had a very early introduction to music. His parents enrolled him in classical piano studies at the early age of 4 at The Music Studio in Albany, New York. From a musical history, Eric's family lineage traces back to Ernestine von Fricken, to whom Robert Schumann was once engaged and dedicated much of his music to. In the early 2000's Eric began to immerse himself in composition inspired by the traditional romantic composers as well as modern film composers. Eric later went on to study Film Scoring at Berklee College of music in Boston, MA. Eric has done extensive travels around the world which inspire most of his music. Most frequently Eric spends time in Paris where he lived briefly between Los Angeles and Brooklyn. The home of composers and artists such as Chopin, Liszt, Ravel, and Satie, which greatly influence his compositions and performance techniques.
