Powering Progress: State Energy Efficiency Index 2023 Highlights

The State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) a Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) initiative in association with Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) evaluates the annual progress of energy efficiency implementation in states and UTs.

SEEI 2023 was launched on March 01, 2024, by the Hon’ble Union Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister Shri R. K. Singh during the celebration of the 22 nd foundation day of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. It assesses the performance of 36 states and UTs using 65 qualitative, quantitative, and outcome-based indicators measures distributed across seven (7) demand sectors: Buildings, Industry, Municipal Services, Transport, Agriculture, DISCOM, and cross-sector. The fifth edition of the index, SEEI 2023, evaluates the EE progress of the states and UTs for fiscal year (FY) 2022-23. The SEEI 2023 framework has been updated in alignment with national priorities for a sustainable and equitable energy transition.
