I go out to this drain and decide to put the camera in, good call as it happens because I found the pipe was damaged.

At this point a drain engineer should make a considered decision, carry on or call it.

Due to the amount of debris dropping into this pipe I believed that it was essential to repair the drain. Therefore I said to the customer that the drain was unserviceable.

I think it's essential to check a drain with a camera where possible.
