This video was recorded in Berlin, Germany. Northern Sami, known natively as Davvisámegiella, is spoken by as many as 25,000 people, primarily in the nordic nations of Norway, Sweden, and Finland. The most widely spoken of the Sami languages, it has been a written language since at least 1638, when the "Svenske och Lappeske ABC Book", a book of Protestant confessions and prayer, was published.
