'Indian Rhythm Jam’, a Carnatic Hindustani percussion Jugalbandhi that celebrates pure rhythm. This Tabla Mridangam face-off criss-crosses the rich terrain of classical Indian rhythm by blending two distinct styles of percussion that includes the sound of percussion instruments and the vocal sounds of Konnakol and Padhant. The artists coming together to perform are Sarvesh Karthick (Mridhangam, Konnakol), Anirudh Sharma (Tabla, Padhant) and Mahesh Raghvan (Music Production).
Getting straight to the heart, the piece starts with a fast-paced pattern of beats before moving to the calmer Sarvalaghu. The two percussionists then traverse different Nadais and beat patterns, with Konnakol and Padhant creating joyful exchanges between them. Tap your feet to this exuberance of Indian Rhythm!
