2000 bear tracker 250 “full rebuild”

MUST READ FOR BACK STORY Big surprise on today's video!! Ive been working on a atv that was given to me by my in laws because it was just taking up space at this point and no one had any attention to ever try to make it run again so i took it off there hands and decided to fully rebuild it and bring it back to life for my wife... Introducing the 2000 bear tracker 250! This atv was purchased off the showroom floor in 2001 and only has had 1 owner its whole life but its definitely had a crazy journey. It was a family atv that my wife drove when she was a kid until one day in 2004 things took a turn for the worst and someone broke into there shed and stole the bear tracker 250 and a 2000 yamaha blaster 200. They thought they were never gonna see there atvs again until almost a little over a year later they were contacted by the police saying both atv's were found in a random woods area miles away from our neighborhood and was identified from there vin numbers. Both of them was in horrible condition and would not run or even move so they towed them back to the house and put them in the shed were the blaster was sold months later and the bear tracker stayed there until now. They found out that they've been hot wired and sunk in a ditch so the engines was destroyed. I knew it was gonna be alot of work, time, and money but if i could get it running it would be perfect for my wife to ride since me and my son got atvs and we wanted to get another one to ride as a family. I took it home and broke it down right away to start ordering parts for it. Even if it worked it was replaced with new parts to make it reliable and the engine was flushed many times and the fuel lines was cleaned and replaced. Also replaced the carburetor, battery, spark plug, spark plug boot, air filter, and got all new electrical components replaced, with a new Ignition switch. A week and a half later it was ready for its first start where it started and idled perfectly until i pushed the throttle 3/4 in so i took the carb off and adjusted the mid range needle. From there it was back to business!!! I had a blast working on this atv and getting to ride it after almost 20 years of sitting up. Super happy to add this 2000 bear tracker 250 to the atv family and get ready to do a family ride.
